Quick Answer: What Does Mobile Auto Body Repair Cost?
The short version
The price rises with the size of the damage, the number of panels, your paint color and the materials involved. A small door ding or a few paint chips sit near the bottom. Bumper work, scratches through the color layer, wheels and hail sit in the middle. Multi-panel and hail jobs are at the top. We send an exact quote from your photos before you book.
| Service | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Paintless dent repair | $175 to $300 small ding, $250 to $500 medium dent, $450 to $900 or more for a large crease |
| Scratch repair | $175 to $400 light, $350 to $800 or more through the color layer, per panel |
| Bumper repair | $275 to $650 per scuffed section, $450 to $900 or more for cracks and larger damage |
| Paint repair | $350 to $900 or more per panel depending on size and paint type |
| Paint chip repair | $175 to $350 for a few chips, $350 to $800 or more for hood or bumper rock chips |
| Alloy wheel repair | $175 to $400 per wheel, $650 to $1,300 or more for a set |
| Hail damage repair | $600 to $1,500 light, $1,500 to $4,000 moderate, $4,000 or more severe |
| Interior detailing | $175 to $350 or more |
| Exterior detailing | $175 to $300 or more |
| Ceramic coating | $500 to $2,500 or more depending on the coating |
| Paint correction | $350 to $2,000 or more depending on paint condition and number of stages |
These are typical US ranges to help you plan, not fixed prices or a quote. Larger or more complex damage costs more. Your price depends on your vehicle and the damage, and we confirm it from your photos before you book.
How We Quote a Job
- Send photos. Use the quote form to upload one or two photos of the damage and tell us your make, model, year and color. A photo from three or four feet away at an angle, and a close-up, is enough for most jobs.
- We review the damage. We look at the size, depth, paint condition, panel material and how many panels are involved.
- You get a quote by text or call. It says what we will repair, the price and how long it takes. If we cannot tell from photos, we say so and arrange a look.
- You decide. There is no obligation. If you book, a technician comes to your home or workplace at the agreed time.
See our guide on photos for an accurate quote to get the best result from the form.
Why Mobile Repair Has a Starting Price
A mobile job starts the moment the technician leaves for your address. Travel time, fuel and vehicle costs, setting up a work area, preparing the surface, mixing paint to your color and finishing the repair all happen whether the damage is small or large. That is why even small jobs are quoted individually, and why we would rather tell you up front than quote a number that does not cover the work.
The upside is that it all happens where you are. There is no drop-off, no rental car and no waiting at a shop for days. If you have more than one thing to fix, such as a door ding, a scuffed bumper and a curbed wheel, combining them in one visit usually makes sense, and we quote them together.
What Moves a Price Up or Down
- Size and depth of damage. A shallow scuff is quicker than a deep gouge or a crease across a body line.
- Number of panels. One bumper corner is a different job from a bumper, door and fender.
- Paint type and color. Solid and metallic colors need a base coat and clear coat. Three-stage pearls such as pearl white or deep red need an extra layer and more blending.
- Panel material. Aluminum and high-strength steel need more careful tool work than standard steel.
- Access. Dents behind braces, roof rails or on panel edges take more time.
- Paint condition. Cracked paint at a dent, or existing filler, changes the method.
- Add-ons. A detail or ceramic coating after the repair is quoted separately and can be combined into the same visit.
Mobile Repair or Body Shop?
A body shop and a mobile technician are two ways of fixing the same cosmetic damage. The difference is mostly in where the work happens and how long you are without your car.
| Mobile repair | Body shop | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | At your home or workplace | At the shop |
| Your car | You keep it | Dropped off, often for days |
| Best for | Cosmetic damage: dents, scuffs, scratches, chips, wheels, hail | Structural, frame or major collision damage |
| Quote | From photos, before you book | Usually after an in-person estimate |
If photos show damage that needs a collision center, such as frame or safety-system damage, we will tell you.
Three Example Jobs
These examples show how the ranges above work in practice. They are illustrations, not quotes.
A door ding in a parking lot
One shallow ding on a steel door, paint intact. This is a small paintless dent repair job at the lower end, usually about an hour.
A scuffed bumper corner and a curbed wheel
A bumper corner with paint scrapes and light plastic marking, plus one wheel with curb rash. These are quoted together in one visit, which usually takes a few hours.
Hail on the hood and roof
Forty to sixty small dents, paint intact. This is a PDR job priced by the number and size of dents, and usually takes more than one day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the quote free?
Yes. Quotes from photos are free and carry no obligation.
Do you give a price over the phone?
We can give a rough idea, but an exact price needs photos of the damage, because two similar-looking dents or scratches can need very different work.
Can the price change after I book?
The quote covers the work in your photos. If the technician finds more damage on arrival, they will tell you and explain the options before doing anything extra.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is part of how we price a mobile job, so it is built into the quote. There is no separate surprise fee.
Is a detail or ceramic coating cheaper if done with a repair?
We can combine services in one visit, which saves you a second appointment. We quote them together so you can see each part.
